Ruby Funk Underwood age 89 of Fries, Virginia passed away Friday, May 6, 2011 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Underwood was born on October 7, 1921 in Grayson County, Virginia to Marzelle and Emma Patton Funk. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Buford Underwood.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Sandra U. and Ray Williams of Danville, Kentucky; Jeanette U. and Raymond David Haga of Fries, Virginia; daughter and fiance' Debra U. Littreal and Ronnie Bullion of Fries, Virginia; grandchildren Lisa S. Euler; Janice L. Payne; Richard D. Stump; Timmy Littreal; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister Edith Bennett of Fries, Virginia; brothers and sister-in-law Harold Funk of Fries, Virginia; M.J. and Burline Funk of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday, May 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Stevens Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Smith and Rev. Ken Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in the Stevens Creek U.M. Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from six until eight at the church.
