Ruby Williams Rutherford Funk age 90 of Independence, Virginia passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Funk was born on November 22, 1922 in Grayson County, Virginia to Marvin and Lethia Vaughan Williams. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands Leon Rutherford( father of the children) and John Mack Funk. A granddaughter Susan Rutherford Dunford also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Sharon and Mitchell Brown of Independence, Virginia; Janice and J.C. Osborne of Elk Creek, Virginia; sons and daughter-in-law Roger and Phyllis Rutherford of Rural Retreat, Virginia; Rick Rutherford of Randleman, North Carolina; brother and sister-in-law Harold and Nancy Williams of Fries, Virginia; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, July 5, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Ron Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
