Ruby J. Edwards, age 72, of Galax, VA, passed away Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009 in the Golding Living Blue Ridge Nursing and Rehab. Center, Galax.

Mrs. Edwards was born in Mercer County, West Virginia to John William and Emily Jane Robinette Monk.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Lee Edwards and is survived by sisters & brothers-in-law, Bonita & Royce Burnette, Galax, Juanita & Jesse Delp, Elk Creek, VA, brothers & sisters-in-law, Mr.& Mrs. Clifford H. Monk, Princeton, West VA, Mr. Theo Monk, Princeton, W. VA, Mr. & Mrs. Hobert D. Monk, Florida, Mr. & Mrs. Teddy Monk, Burlington, NC and several nieces & nephews.

A graveside service and burial will be held Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, 2:00 PM, at the Oakland Cemetery, with the Rev. Elton Horton officiating.

There will be no visitation and in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to charity of choice.
