Obituary

Ruby Sue Bryson of Woodlawn, Virginia transitioned to Glory on February 26, 2023 at the Grayson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson County, making her stay on earth 95 years.

She was born to Esther Brown Crockett and Willis L. Crockett. She was one of seven born from this union.

She had many names, Ruby, Ruby Sue, Sue, Mom, Mommy, Grandma, and Mother Bryson. All who knew her loved her! She loved to garden and plant flowers. She often said that she wanted her flowers while she was living. She was also an amazing cook.

Ruby was a faithful member of the Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church of God in Galax, Virginia under the Pastorship of the late Pastor Rose Bradley and then Bishop Ethelene Bryan until she was no longer able to attend. She loved singing and praising the Lord. Her favorite song was "He's An On Time God" which would have her rocking and clapping her hands whenever she heard it. She was an amazing mother to her five children who went above and beyond to make sure that her children were taken care of.

She was preceded in death by her parents Esther and Willis L. Crockett, her daughter Regina Smith, one brother Frank Crockett and three sisters Liz Jenkins, Mary Harriston and Patricia Graham.

She is survived by her loving husband Conny Bryson of the home; two sons Phillip Crockett of Woodlawn, Virginia; Steve (Mable) Bryson of Galax, Virginia; two daughters Pamela (Manny) Ingram of Upper Marlboro, Maryland and Leslie (Jeff) Brown of Galax, Virginia; two grandsons Patrick Harper and Kristopher Handy; three granddaughters Kim Lockwood, Patrice Tabon and Kelli Ingram; six great grandchildren Tiana and Jade Harper; Maliah, Kimya, Kaylee and Elias Tabon;  one brother Layton (Nancy) Crockett and one sister Barbara Billingslea and a host of family and friends

A Homegoing Service will be held on Saturday March 4 th at 3:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel in Galax, Virginia with Minister Golden Carter doing the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Glade Memorial Cemetery in Fairview, Virginia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the service.
