Roy Lee Trent age 79 of Wytheville, Virginia and formerly of Fries, Virginia passed away Friday, August 11, 2023 in Carrington Place at Wytheville.

Mr. Trent was born in Grayson County, Virginia on May 24, 1944 to John Kyle and Rebecca June Bolt Trent. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Gladys "Gerlene" Trent; infant brother Kenneth Trent; brother Clifford "Wayne" Trent.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Rhonda and Mike Shaffner of Pinnacle, North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law David and Amber Trent of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; two grandchildren Joshua Trent and Gracie Mae Trent; special cousin Ronnie Trent; several cousins.

A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM in the Flat Rock Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Jones officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Flat Rock Cemetery Fund.

Roy was multitalented and played many musical instruments. He loved to flat foot dance.  He loved his Lord and enjoyed telling other people about Him.
