Roy Lee Cox's Obituary
Roy Lee Cox age 72 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at his home.
Roy was born on March 31, 1942 in Grayson County, Virginia to the late Fred and Imogene Vaughan Cox. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Daneard Cox.
Roy proudly served our country in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn Leonard Cox of Galax, Virginia; daughter and son-in-law Regina and Ray Collins of Greensboro, North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law Doug and Angie Cox of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren Chloe Cox and Lydia Collins; sister and brother-in-law Reggie and Carl Dean Edwards of Ennice, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews and a special cousin Carl Royal.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Brady Morrison; Jimmy Jennings and Edwin Stamper officiating. Burial will follow in the McKenzie Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the McKenzie Cemetery Fund, C/O Buford Wilson, 960 Cranberry Road, Galax, Virginia 24333.
