Roy Gleaves Burnett age 78 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2009 in Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Burnett was born on April 2, 1930 in Carroll County, Va. to Roby Luther & Ocie Sizemore Burnett. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Icie Burnett. He is survived by his daughters & sons-in-law Neena & Roger Wiles of Fries, Va.; Tina & Randy Crowder of Galax, Va.; son & daughter-in-law Dwight & Nellie Burnette of Fries, Va.; sister Dorothy Bowers of Galax, Va.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 14,2009 at 3:00 pm in the Galax City Cemetery with Billy Burnette officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:30 until 2:30 pm at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
