Roy Ervin Bowman age 73 passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 in Manassas, Virginia.
He was born on March 18, 1943 in Virginia to the late Ervin F. and Sena H. (Melton) Bowman. Roy was an avid sports fan, who enjoyed watching NASCAR and the Washington Redskins. He was a Ford guy and loved working on cars. Roy also enjoyed gardening and spending time with family, friends and neighbors.
Survivors include two children Shelia Ann Steen and husband Donald of Manassas, Virginia; Bobby Lee Bowman and Lynda Johnson of Warrenton, Virginia; one grandson Michael Allen Steen of Manassas, Virginia; one brother Charlie Bowman and wife Pat of Galax, Virginia; three sisters Hazel Easter of Cana, Virginia; Janie Higgins of Galax, Virginia; Norma Payne and husband Dean of Galax, Virginia.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, Virginia. A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 5th at 10:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the funeral home.
