Roy Edward Ayers' Obituary
Roy Edward Ayers age 87 of Winston-Salem, North Carolina passed away Tuesday, January 26,2016 in the Forsyth Medical Center.
Mr. Ayers was born in Carroll County, Virginia on July 27, 1928 to Boyd Alexander and Jettie Brooks Mooney Ayers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters Betty Gardner and Helena Frost; brothers Whitt Ayers; Harold Dean Ayers; Robert Ayers; James Ayers and Flemming C. "F.C." Ayers.
He is survived by his wife Eskie Iona Lawson Ayers; children and spouses Dennis Roy and Elizabeth Ayers of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Donna Delane and Stanley Griffin of Blues Creek, North Carolina; Dale Whitt and Joanna Ayers of Clemmons, North Carolina; Mark Edward and Lisa Ayers of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; sister and brother-in-law Frances and Joe Higgins of Galax, Virginia; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the River Hill Christian Church with the Rev. Randy Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the River Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior to the funeral service at the River Hill Christian Church.
