Rowena‌ ‌Diamond‌ ‌Green‌ ‌(March‌ ‌24,‌ ‌1931–‌ ‌June‌ ‌21,‌ ‌2021‌ ‌)‌ ‌ Age‌ ‌90,‌ ‌of‌ ‌Woodlawn,‌ ‌VA.‌ ‌Rowena‌ ‌enjoyed‌ ‌life‌ ‌and‌ ‌encouraged‌ ‌those‌ ‌ around‌ ‌her‌ ‌to‌ ‌appreciate‌ ‌the‌ ‌simple‌ ‌things‌ ‌on‌ ‌earth.‌ ‌She‌ ‌was‌ ‌known‌ ‌as‌ ‌a‌ ‌ dedicated‌ ‌wife‌ ‌and‌ ‌loyal‌ ‌to‌ ‌her‌ ‌faith,‌ ‌family,‌ ‌and‌ ‌friends.‌ ‌She‌ ‌enjoyed‌ ‌ singing‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌choir,‌ ‌working‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌garden,‌ ‌canning,‌ ‌sewing,‌ ‌and‌ ‌ providing‌ ‌meals‌ ‌for‌ ‌those‌ ‌which‌ ‌visited‌ ‌or‌ ‌she‌ ‌aided‌ ‌with‌ ‌supplement‌ ‌ meals‌ ‌at‌ ‌church,‌ ‌Moose,‌ ‌or‌ ‌VFW‌ ‌and‌ ‌Auxiliary‌ ‌events.‌ ‌She‌ ‌was‌ ‌a‌ ‌ member‌ ‌of‌ ‌Sky‌ ‌View‌ ‌Baptist‌ ‌Church‌ ‌in‌ ‌Fancy‌ ‌Gap‌ ‌and‌ ‌was‌ ‌most‌ ‌proud‌ ‌ that‌ ‌she‌ ‌attended‌ ‌church‌ ‌regularly‌ ‌most‌ ‌of‌ ‌her‌ ‌life.‌ ‌ ‌

R owena‌ ‌was‌ ‌born‌ ‌in‌ ‌Baywood,‌ ‌VA‌ ‌to‌ ‌Coy‌ ‌Diamond‌ ‌and‌ ‌Velva‌ ‌Hawks‌ ‌ Diamond‌ ‌of‌ ‌Baywood.‌ ‌Rowena‌ ‌was‌ ‌preceded‌ ‌in‌ ‌death‌ ‌by‌ ‌her‌ ‌parents,‌ ‌ Coy‌ ‌and‌ ‌Velva;‌ ‌Husband Noe Andrew Green; Sister‌ ‌-‌ ‌Ruby‌ ‌Diamond‌ ‌Thornton;‌ ‌Brothers-Frank‌ ‌ Diamond‌ ‌of‌ ‌Galax,‌ ‌and‌ ‌Edward‌ ‌'Pete'‌ ‌Diamond of‌ ‌Woodlawn.‌ ‌ ‌

‌ Rowena‌ ‌is‌ ‌survived‌ ‌by‌ ‌her‌ ‌son‌ ‌Dennis‌ ‌and‌ ‌daughter-in-law‌ ‌Paula‌ ‌R.‌ ‌ Green;‌ ‌Kenneth‌ ‌and‌ ‌daughter-in-law‌ ‌Sue‌ ‌Alley‌ ‌Green;‌ ‌Brother-Dale‌ ‌ and‌ ‌sister-in-law‌ ‌Brenda‌ ‌Shaw‌ ‌Diamond,‌ ‌sister-Loretta‌ ‌Diamond;‌ ‌sister‌ ‌ Phyllis‌ ‌Diamond‌ ‌Leonard‌ ‌and‌ ‌brother-in-law‌ ‌Kevin; sister-in-laws, Cora Lee Diamond and Patsy South Diamond.‌

Mrs.‌ ‌Green‌ ‌had‌ ‌four‌ ‌grandchildren,‌ ‌one‌ ‌great‌ ‌grandchild,‌ ‌two‌ ‌step‌ ‌grandchildren,‌ ‌two‌ ‌ step‌ ‌great-grandchildren‌ ‌and‌ ‌numerous‌ ‌nephews,‌ ‌nieces,‌ ‌and‌ ‌great‌ ‌ nephews‌ ‌and‌ ‌nieces‌ ‌scattered‌ ‌across‌ ‌the‌ ‌United‌ ‌States.‌ ‌Thanks‌ ‌to‌ ‌family,‌ ‌ friends,‌ ‌and‌ ‌church‌ ‌for‌ ‌their‌ ‌continued‌ ‌support‌ ‌with‌ ‌food,‌ ‌visits,‌ ‌phone‌ ‌ calls,‌ ‌and‌ ‌cards‌ ‌during‌ ‌her‌ ‌extended‌ ‌illness.‌ ‌The‌ ‌family‌ ‌is‌ ‌very‌ ‌ appreciative‌ ‌for‌ ‌special‌ ‌care‌ ‌takers‌ ‌from‌ ‌Twin County‌ ‌Hospice of Galax, VA,‌ ‌Carmen‌ ‌ Vasquez,‌ ‌and‌ ‌Kelsey‌ ‌Green.‌ ‌ ‌
