Rose Marie Brown McBride age 82 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, November 20, 2009 at Waddell Nursing Home.

Mrs. McBride was born on March 8, 1927 in Galax, Virginia to Thomas Ray & Grace Leona Hodges Bullion. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands Everett Sidney Brown and Edgar Hugh McBride; sons William John McBride and Gary Everett Brown.

She is survived by her daughters & son-in-law Debbie & Barry Liddle; Karla Burcham all of Galax, Va.; son & daughter-in-law Eddie & Nellie McBride of Galax, Va.; daughter-in-law Mary Brown of Galax, Va.; grandchildren & spouses Arwen & Wayne Cayton, Shenandoah Brown, Heather & Bradley Wood, Jessica & Steven Cook, Brittney Alice Sumner; great-grandchildren; Wyatt & Ayla Cayton, Ashton & Alissa Cook, Jaxson Wood; sisters Helen Smith & Norma Jean Melton both of Galax, Va.; step-children Irene Horton & Lee Edward Brown both of Winston-Salem, N.C.; three step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, November 22, 2009 at 2:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Ernie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery at Midway Heights. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
