Rose Melba Dyke, of Independence, VA, age 66, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015 at the Grayson Rehab & Health Care Center, Independence, VA.

Mrs. Dyke was born October 16, 1948 in Suffolk, VA to William and Lucille Russell Chaney.

She is survived by her husband Larry N. Dyke of Independence, Virginia; daughters & sons-in-law, Lynn Eastwood, Poloie, Indiana; Rose Marie Hilton, Independence, VA; Sherry Forester, Pulaski, VA; Patty & Alfredo Rodriguez, Payson, AZ; Lori & Tony Eller, Independence, VA; son & daughter-in-Law, Michael & Betty Asbell, Low Gap, NC; brothers & sisters-in-law, Jack & Faye Chaney, Mississippi, Johnny Chaney, Nashville, NC. Herman & Cathy Chaney, Wakefield, VA; sisters & brother-in-law, Margaret Lester, Suffolk, VA & Ethel & Hayden Hudlow, Forest City, NC; twenty one grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, 3:00 PM, July 15, 2015 at the Brush Creek Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Forest U.M.C. Cemetery. The family will receive friends from one until three PM preceding the funeral service Wednesday at the church. Officiating ministers will be Pastor Eddie Rollands and Pastor Carson Linkous.
