Ronnie "Gene" Taylor age 84 of Fries, Virginia passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at his home.

Gene was born on December 23, 1940 in Fieldale, Virginia to Robert E.J. and Vera Elizabeth Swinney Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter June Emerson  Vaughan and two sisters Doris Johnson and Juanita Wampler.

He is survived by his wife Vina Taylor; daughters and sons-in-law Teresa and Rickey Fulton; Tracy and Jimmie Underwood; Catrinna and Myron Shupe all of Fries, Virginia;  sons and daughter-in-law Ronnie and Karen Taylor of Fries, Virginia;  Charlie Davis of Crockett, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law Mary and Allen Waller of Fries, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Jerry and Donna Taylor; Joe and Nancy Taylor all of Ivanhoe, Virginia;  thirteen grandchildren Chad Taylor (India); April Macinnis (Ian); Mandi Funk (Kris); Garrett Vaughan (Jessica); Zack Vaughan (Kate); Shelley Anders (Chris); James Underwood; Jacey Underwood; Angel Shupe; Carrie  Shupe; Ellie Shupe; Jake Shupe; Misha Parish; fifteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; several good neighbors and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday at 1:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Matt Linkous officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
