Ronnie Douglas Nelson, 57, of Galax passed away February 9, 2011 at his home. Ronnie was born February 11, 1953 in Galax to Kent Douglas Nelson and Ella Eastridge Nelson. In addition to his parents he was preceded by death by his wife Sandra Nelson.

Ronnie is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Tammy & Christopher Ingo of Woodlawn; Heather and Jeff Stoots of Hillsville; 8 grandchildren: Justan Killion, Devin Simone, Cody Ross, Shauna Gillespie; Dalton Gillespie; Aurora Ingo, Marina Ingo and Hannah Stoots. Also surviving are two sisters & a brother-in-law: Frieda & Virgil Sexton of Fries; Carol Jean Post of Glade Valley, North Carolina; three brothers: William (Bill) Bonds, Ronald Edward Nelson both of Galax and Robert Nelson of Fries. Several Aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 12, 2011 in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel at 3:30 PM with Rev. Claude Holderfield officiating. Interment will follow in the McKenzie Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:30 PM until service time.
