Ronald Otis Willard age 75 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024 at his home.

Ronald was born in Carroll County, Virginia on May 7, 1949 to Jay Marvin and Martha Ruth Burcham Willard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Betty Lou Yates and brothers Harry Paul Vass and Grady Vass.

He proudly served his country in the US Army.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Mary Jane Cheeks Willard, sons and daughters-in-law Stacy and Rena Willard; Tommy Joe and Michelle Willard all of Galax, Virginia; sister Pauline Osmer of Gurly, Alabama; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special caregiver Christy Thomas..

A memorial graveside service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM in the Fairlawn Church of Christ Cemetery with Pastor Kent Allender officiating.  Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville VFW Post 1115. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations to either the Pipers Gap Rescue Squad or the Fairlawn Church of Christ Cemetery Fund.
