Ronald Lee Sawyers

Ronald Lee Sawyers Born on August 31, 1950, in Wythe County Va, passed away on June 21, 2026, at the age of 75 leaving behind a life that will be remembered with reflection, honesty, and quiet care. He lived life in his own way, and those who knew him hold a range of memories shaped by those experiences.

Ronald’s journey included both connection and distance, and over time, relationships changed. Even so, his life remains a meaningful part of his family’s story, and there are moments and memories that continue to carry significance in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arley Winset; his mother, Dora Edna Mabe; his sister, June Aldrey Yearout; and his brother, David Allen Sawyers.

He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Lynn Wheeler and her husband, William Wheeler; his son, Ronnie Dewayne Sawyers; and his daughter, Jennifer Dawn East and her husband, Daniel Lee East and former wife Kathy Lynn Sawyers. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He is further survived by his sisters, Mary Sue Frost, Nancy Katherine Sutherland, and Eva Gail Akers; along with several nieces and nephews, as well as special friends.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 12:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Todd Porter officiating. Burial will follow in the Bishops Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.

As those who knew him reflect on his life, there is space for understanding, remembrance, and quiet compassion. Though his path was his own, his presence leaves an imprint that will not be forgotten. Ronald will be deeply missed by many.
