Ronald Claude Handy age 62 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009 at his home. Ronald was born on January 8, 1947 in Carroll County, Va. to Claude Hardin & Phyllis Wright Handy. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his wife Leona Irene Handy. He is survived by daughter & son-in-law, Amy & Keith Vaughan, Galax, two granddaughters, Abby & Molly Vaughan, his mother, Phyllis Wright Handy and brother Donald Handy both of Galax, Virginia. A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 22, 2009 at 2:00 pm in Vuaghn-Guynn Chapel with Dr. Winford Hendrix officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from one until service time at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Asthma Allergy Foundation.
