Ronald David Davis, Sr. age 71 of Fries, Virginia passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at his home.

Ronnie was born in Carroll County, Va. on July 3, 1938 to Freeman & Callie Holcomb Davis. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Lois Jean Potter.

He is survived by his wife Linda Davis of Fries, Va.; sons Ronald David Davis, Jr. of Hermiston, Oregon; Randall Stacy Davis of Woodlawn, Va.; step-mother Leota Davis of Galax, Va.; sisters Madelene Fields of Galax, Va.; Mildred Waters of Georgia; Thelma Walker of Fries, Va.; brothers Sidney Davis, Jack Davis and Carl Davis all of Galax, VA; and Earnest Davis of Fries, VA;
step-children Stormy Sandra Lambier of Kernewick, Washington; Crystal Joyce Mason of Vesta, Va.; Hollie December Savage of Hillsville, Va.; Dyrick Reed of Max Meadows, Va.; Deedie Blankenship & Damon Reed both of Fries, Va.; Dondeia LaRue of Pulaski, Va.; David Reed of Wytheville, Va.; twenty-one grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 2:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Camet Spivey officiating. Burial will follow in Bishops Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from seven utnil nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
