Roger William West known as Bill West age 66 of Mt. Airy, North Carolina passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011 in the North Carolina Baptist Hospital.
Roger was born on December 31, 1944 in Washington, DC to Frank and June Barnes West.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis Barton West of Mt.Airy, North Carolina; sons and daughters-in-law Dennis and Doreen Sutton of Tallahassee, Florida; Michael and Erin McAllister of Annapolis, Maryland; Richard West and Roger West, Jr. both of Greenville, South Carolina; sisters Bonnie Gibson of Wheaton, Maryland; Lynn Nicholson of Louisville, Kentucky; brothers Robert West of Abingdon, Virginia; John West of Damascus, Maryland; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011 in the Fairview Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. Sam Holder officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Fairview Baptist Church or the Wildlife Club in Lowgap, North Carolina.
