Roger Wayne Jones

Roger Wayne Jones age 79 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, July 24, 2026 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Roger was born in Carroll County, Virginia on April 3, 1947 to Clifford Clinton and Hattie Lineberry Jones. In addition to h is parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law T.M. and Crilda Jones; two sisters Juanita Jones and Una Lee Jones.

He is survived by his wife Velma Morris Jones of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Steven and Michelle Jones of Greensboro, North Carolina; sister Faye Rutherford of Woodlawn, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews and the loving church members at River Hill Christian Church.

The funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Eddie Easter officiating. Bu will follow in the River Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn funeral Home. Flowers are appreciated or donations may be made to the River Hill Cemetery Fund, 1413 Pridemore Road, Galax, Virginia.
