Roger Dean Hawks age 69 of Mt. Airy, North Carolina passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in the Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Roger was born on June 14, 1947 in Galax, Virginia to William and Arinda Jacobs Hawks. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Gene Hawks.

He is survived by his wife Debbie Easter Hawks of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; daughters and son-in-law Alexandria (B.J.) Renee Hawks of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; Donna and Barry Eastridge of Galax, Virginia; granddaughter Tara Eastridge; step-daughter Wendy Amaya of Lumberton, North Carolina; granddaughter Jordon Hicks; step-son and wife Donnie and Tina Hicks III of Statesboro, Georgia; grandchildren Audrey Hicks; Bryce Finley; sisters and brother-in-law Betty Jo Lundy of Galax, Virginia; Joyce and Mitch Simmons of Charlotte, North Carolina; brothers and sisters-in-law Paul and Angie Hawks of Tucson, Arizona; Bobby and Melba Hawks of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Vickie Easter; Barbara Easter Smith and friend Adrian; brothers-in-law and spouses Tommy and Bonita Easter; Michael and Sandie Parker; Daryll and Rhonda Bailey.

A graveside service will be held Friday, March 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Galax City Cemetery with the Rev. Eddie Stanley officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
