Roger Allen Carrico, age 62, Galax, VA, died June 20, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Carrico was born Dec. 16, 1951 in Grayson County, VA to Venard and Lottie Inez Funk Carrico. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lakon Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Mary H. Carrico of the home; daughter & son-in-law, Amy L. & John Roberts, Galax, VA; son & friend, Eric Allen Carrico and Katherine Moore, Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Todd Allen Carrico, Joey Lee Roberts, Trenton Isaac Roberts, Sarah Marie Carrico, Charlie Felts, C.J. Moore, Kari Bare and soon to be (Peanut) Robert; brother, Kenneth Carrico, Galax, VA, sister & friend, Judy Vaughan and Ulius Martin, Galax, VA; special sisters, Carolyn Lane, Brenda Carrico, Debra Carico, Barbara Hall; special caregivers, Christopher Minger, Charles W. Carrico and Joseph Carrico.

The funeral service will be held Monday, June 23, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel, Galax, VA with burial to follow in the Blue Ridge Cemetery. Officiating minister will be the Rev. Jerry King. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Sunday, June 22, 2014 at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
