Roger Dale Byrd, age 56, of Fries, VA, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston Salem, NC.
He was born Dec. 17, 1956 in Grayson County, VA to James & Betty Shupe Byrd.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Byrd; daughter, Christie Lundy, Fries, VA;; grandchildren, Nikki Lundy, Dillon Lundy; mother, Betty Byrd, Fries, VA; sister, Patricia Byrd, Galax, VA; brother, Timmy Byrd, Fries, VA; several nieces & nephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 in the Atkins United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Atkins Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Bill Shupe. The family will receive friends from
7:00 PM until 9:00 PM tonight (Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013) at the Atkins United Methodist Church.
