Roger Dean Burnette's Obituary
Roger Dean Burnette, age 72, of Galax, VA, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014 at the Veterans Hospital, Salem, VA.
Mr. Burnette was born Dec. 10, 1941 in Roanoke, VA, to Samuel L. and Callie Caldwell Burnette.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Arthur Burnette, Galax, VA; daughters & sons-in-law, Michelle Burnette & Jerry Webb, Hillsville, VA, Emily & Craig Doane, Concord, NC; grandchildren, Gavin Lane Webb , Sarma Elizabeth Doane & Samuel Craig Doane; mother-in-law, Pauline Arthur, Hillsville, VA.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Oct. 2,2014 at 11:00 AM in the First United Methodist Church, Galax, Virginia with the Rev. Richard Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in the Burnette Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014 at the church or anytime at the home on the Hebron road.
Military Rites will be conducted the Hillsville VFW Post 1115.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association, The First United Methodist Church, Galax, VA or the Hillsville VFW Post #1115 Hillsville, VA.
