Rodney Dale Hodges age 55 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024 at his home.

Rodney was born in Galax, Virginia on February 1, 1969 to Roger Dale and Hilda Hackler Hodges. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother Brandon Phillip Hodges.

Rodney was an award winning bluegrass mandolin player and was well loved and respected.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather Hilda and Lynn B. Warf of Little River, South Carolina; brother David Scott Hodges of Galax, Virgina; three aunts Linda Fortner; Verna Mae Carico and Cathy Smith; one nephew Phillip Tyler Hodges and a special nephew Rush Caldwell.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM in the Mt. Vale Methodist Church with Pastor Charles Lundquist officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Mt. Vale Methodist Church.
