Roby L. Edwards, Jr. age 80 of Galax, Va. passed away Friday, August 17, 2007 at his home. Mr. Edwards was born on March 30, 1927 in Carroll County, Va. to the late Roby L. Edwards, Sr.& Lillian Howard Edwards. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Lucille Hicks. Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife Jane L. Edwards of Galax, Va.; daughter & son-in-law Angela Edwards & Tony Goodman of Galax, Va.; son & daughter-in-law Stephen Roby & Carla M. Edwards of Blacksburg, Va.; sisters Ruby Lawson of Woodlawn, Va.; Alleen Redd of Pascagoula, Mississippi; Marie E. Neal of Tannersville, Va.; one grandchild; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 19, 2007 at 3:00 PM in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from one until three at First Baptist Church. Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, Twin County Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
