Robertha Alice Sumner, 88, of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Sumner was born in Wythe County, July 26, 1929 to the late Harold and Mae Sharp Porter.  In additional to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Sumner, Sr. Also preceding Mrs. Sumner in death were sons: Elmer R. Sumner, Jr.; Ted Allen Sumner; siblings: H. B. Porter, Ernest Porter, Shirley Sumner, Mina Sue Viars, Joan Sparks, and Virginia Sizemore.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Everett Sharp of Woodlawn, Virginia and Rita and Darrell Sharp of Galax;  daughter-in-law: Wanda Sumner of Galax, Virginia; sisters and brother in law: Etta and Phillip Manning of Vinton Virginia; Vera Horton of Austinville, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law: J. D. Porter of Galax, Virginia; Alvin and Jean Porter, also of Galax; Duane and Nancy Porter of Oklahoma;; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Woodlawn Pentecostal Holiness Church at 2:00 PM with Pastor Cas Horton and Pastor J. Michael Hall. Interment will follow in the Sharp Cemetery on Oak Grove.  The family will receive friends from 12 Noon Monday until time for the service.
