Robert Lee Wilson age 99 of Galax,Virginia passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mr. Wilson was born in Carroll County, Virginia on November 19, 1914 to Samuel and Annie Elizabeth Harris Wilson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ivan Burnette Wilson; children Shelby Thompkins and Sidney Wilson; grandchildren Jason David Hudson and Jeffery Wayne Hudson.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Colene Hudson of Ennice, North Carolina; Shirley and Lavon Shumate of Galax, Virginia; Iva Lee Black of Kernersville, North Carolina; Mary and Tom Weatherford of Big Island, Virginia; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild; two step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 3:00 PM in the Camp Zion Church with the Rev. Rodney Christman and the Rev. Sam Holder  officiating. Burial will follow in the Camp Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Camp Zion Church.
