Robert Daniel Weatherman, age 74, of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday October 18, 2019. Mr. Weatherman was born on June 21, 1945 to the late Robert Lewis and Minnie Sutherland Weatherman.

He is survived by his wife Darlene Melton Weatherman of Galax; daughter Penny Weatherman (Moises Sagahon) of Newton, North Carolina; sons Eddie Slayton (Renee), Gary R. Slayton, Jr., Adam J. Slayton, all of Galax, Joseph R. Slayton of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; grandchildren Joshua Sagahon, Danielle Hoke (Chris), Aden Moore, Allison Slayton, Addison Slayton; and great grandchild Zachary Hoke. Also surviving are sisters Mary Payne, Anita Felts, Barbara Bowers (Johnny), all of Galax; niece Heather Nester (Matt); nephew Jason Bowers; great niece Laken Nester; and great nephew Tyler Nester.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM in the Mt. Vale United Methodist Church with Pastor David Payne and Pastor Ronnie Collins officiating. The burial will follow at Mt. Vale Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time of the service at Mt. Vale United Methodist Church.
