Robert Oscoe Taylor age 82 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, July 22, 2011 at his home.

Mr. Taylor was born on March 27, 1929 in Gary West, Virginia. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death a son Robert Bristol Taylor; daughter Mourning Devine Carter; by two sisters Kaula Bush and Janice Hampton; three brothers Randolph Hampton, Sr.; Alfee Taylor and James Choate.

He is survived by his wife Marsha L. Taylor of Galax, Virginia; children and spouses Pastor Gloria Johnson of Lorton, Virginia; Evangelist Dallas Taylor of Pulaski, Virginia; Perry Taylor of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Stevie Taylor Pulaski, Virginia; Vivian & Mitch Mitchell of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Lavonne Taylor of Stafford, Virginia; Linda & Harold Holliday of Galax, Virginia; brother Joe Charles Taylor of Norfolk, Virginia; nineteen plus grandchildren; eighteen plus great-grandchildren; special nieces Minister Donna Hampton and Beatrice Young; special nephews Randolph Willie Hampton, Jr. and Thomas Tucker; host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Mt. Zion Holiness Church with Pastor Gloria Johnson; Deacon Faralee Wolfe and Deacon Weldon Phipps officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery with Military Rites by Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from seven until nine at the Mt. Zion Holiness Church.
