Robert Haywood Sawyers age 57 of Galax, Va. passed away Thursday, April 24, 2008 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, N.C.. Robert was born in Patrick County, Va. on August 7, 1950 to William Walker & Susan Smith Sawyers. He is survived by his wife Cynthia Sawyers of Winston-Salem, N.C.; daughters Rose Sawyers & Vera Sawyers both of Mt.Airy, N.C.; son Marvin Hampton of Galax, Va.; sisters & brothers-in-law Geneva Reyes of Galax, Va.; Lealvr Reddick of Mt. Airy, N.C.; Louise & Ron Jones of Pinnacle, N.C.; Josephine & Ike Larry of Woodridge, New York; brothers & sister-in-law Johnny Sawyers; Leroy Sawyers both of Galax, Va.; Walter Lee & Doris Sawyers of Mt.Airy, NC.; Sherman Sawyers of Fries, Va.; sister-in-law & brother-in-law Ann & Jessie Jacobs; six grandchildren; host of nieces & nephews; host of cousins and friends. The funeral service will be held Sunday, April 27, 2008 at 2:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Sister Juanita Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Oldtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
