Robert Wayne Phipps age 82 of Galax, Virginia went to his heavenly home on Saturday, November 9, 2024 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mr. Phipps was born in Eden, North Carolina on December 20, 1941 to Robert Sam and Clara Ann Lewis Phipps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Zella May Phipps.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Robert Wayne Phipps, Jr. and Lisa of Chatham, Virginia; step-daughter Elizabeth Clubb; two grandchildren and spouses Matthew Dillion Phipps and Stephanie of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Amanda Doss and Bradley of Chatham, Virginia;  three great-grandchildren Lathan Todd Doss; Sophie Alayne Doss and Walker McCrae Dillion; special friends Bill Spurlin and Terry Holt.

A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM in the Felts Memorial Cemetery with Brother  Darren Kinzer officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center for the love and care given to Mr. Phipps.
