Robert Harding Norman age 89 of Fries, Virginia passed away Monday, March 29, 2010 at Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mr. Norman was born on March 5, 1921 in Surry County, N.C. to Jessie Robert & Sylvia Jane Adams Norman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Della Edna Cline Norman.

He is survived by his daughters & sons-in-law Edna Faye Graham & James Bowman of Hiwassee, Va.; Sylvia Mae Poe & Jerel Jones of Galax, Va.; Ruby Darlene & Dennis Johnson of Fries, Va.; sons & daughters-in-law Robert Dean & Masako Norman of Appomattox, Va.; Homer Wesley & Martha Norman; Edward Lee & Carla Norman all of Fries, Va.; Donnie Ray & Brenda Norman of Galax, Va.; sister Florence Flowers of Tazewell, Va.; brother & sister-in-law James Henry & Ruby J. Norman of Galax,Va.; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 2:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Ted Bartlett & Rev. Myron Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
