Robert Allen Nelson, age 60, of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday December 4, 2020 in the Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax.

Robert was born in Galax, Virginia on June 28, 1960 to the late Kent and Ella Eastridge Nelson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Gladys Elaine Nelson as well as five brothers.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law Keith and Cristin Nelson of Fries, Allen Nelson and his girlfriend Paula Shafer of Atkins, Virginia; and grandchildren Carri Buckley Nelson, Xander Nelson, and Dorian Nelson. Also surviving are sisters and brother-in-law Frieda and Virgil Sexton of Fries, Carol Post of Glade Valley, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

The graveside service will be held on Tuesday December 8, 2020 at 11AM in the Liberty Hill Cemetery with Pastor Randy Bledsoe officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
