Robert M. Morton, Jr.'s Obituary
Robert M. Morton, Jr., 91 of Galax, Virginia, was born August 10, 1925 and passed away December 20, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert M. and Alice H. Morton, Sr., one sister Louise Eudell and two brothers Charles and Carroll Morton.
He is survived by his wife Helen C. Morton; two daughters Linda M. Morton and Rosemary Morton; one brother William Don Morton; several nieces, nephews and special friends.
Robert better known as "Bob" served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. After the war, Bob made his home in the Providence District of Grayson County near Fries. He served the residents of Grayson County for 32 years as Commissioner of Revenue and Clerk of the Circuit Court.
The family will receive friends on December 22, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 P. M. at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Galax December 23, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at the Providence Cemetery with Military Honors by Grayson VFW Post #7726.
In lieu of flowers donate to the Providence Cemetery Association, 41 Beagle Lane, Fries, VA 354440 or the First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 445, Galax, VA 24333
