Robert Posey Funk, age 76, of Galax, VA, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 in Galax, VA.
Mr. Funk was born Sept. 20, 1935 in Virginia to Hobert & Vergie Thornton Funk.
He is survived by his wife, Opal Funk, Galax, VA; daughter, Lisa Funk, Galax, VA; son, Roger Funk, Galax, VA; sister, Gladys Pollard, Fries, VA; one very special granddaughter, Kaci Elizabeth Funk; one very special friend, Anita Lamb.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel, Galax, VA. Burial will follow in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Officiating ministers will be the Rev. Sam Holder and the Rev. Matt Linkous.
