Robert S.Dowling, 92, of Fries, VA passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014 at the Golden Living Blue Ridge Nursing Home, Galax, VA. Mr. Dowling was born March 16, 1922 in Grayson County to the late Roby S.Dowling and Myrtle Grace Williams Dowling. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ressie Lee Dowling and daughter Connie Dowling Rose.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law: Beverley and David Albright of Greensboro, North Carolina, brother and sister-in-law Harlow and Deannie Dowling of Fries, Virginia; two grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Providence Cemetery, Fries, Virginia with Rev. Gleasanna J. Dixon officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
