Robert Kendall Cole age 82 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday September 7, 2021 in the North Carolina Baptist Hospital.

Mr. Cole was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on June 18, 1939 to Charles Kendall and Ruth Sylvester Cole. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson Cruccifixio Antonio Cole-Gonzalez.

He proudly served his country in the US Navy.

He is survived by two daughters Michelle Cole of Hagerstown, Maryland and Renee' Cole of Galax, Virginia; brother Gary Cole of Ohio; four  grandchildren Viviana Cole-Gonzalez; Alessandro Cole-Gonzalez; Stephanie Cole and Victoria DeTolla-Cole; one great-grandson Sylas Cox and the mother of his children Rosario Cole of Galax, Virginia.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Mike Morris officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Grayson VFW Post 7726.  Inurnment will be in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 18 ^th from 1:00 PM until time for the service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
