Robert Roy Atkins age 90 of Fries. Virginia passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Atkins was born in Grayson County, Virginia on June 28, 1929 to Paul Shields and Sally Elizabeth Boyer Atkins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Marian Funk Atkins on May 20, 2020, two sisters and brothers-in-law Myrtle Virginia and Bruce Jones, Annie Mae and Eugene Luper, three brothers and sisters-in-law Munsey James and Nell Atkins, Paul Edward and Clara Atkins, Daniel Dane and Rubye Atkins.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Arlene Atkins Morgan and Dennis Lee Morgan of Fries, Virginia; two grandsons and spouses Daniel Lee Morgan and Kiesi of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Michael Wayne Morgan and Erica of Princeton, West, Virginia; five great-grandchildren Kayla Morgan, Ryan Morgan, Christopher Morgan, Jonathan Morgan and Connor Morgan.

A graveside service will be held in the Summerfield United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Ricky Bedwell officiating. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Summerfield Cemetery Fund, C/O Ann Hodges, 138 Springwood Lane, Fries, Virginia 24330.
