Rita Virginia Bond Kane age 95 of Fries, Virginia passed away Monday, April 28, 2014 in the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Kane was born in Grayson County, Virginia on March 14, 1919 to Joseph Victor and Pauline Worley Bond. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Kane; sisters Beatrice Bond Hawks and Geneva Bond Harris; brothers Ernest Bond, Ben Bond and Elgie Bond.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Wanda and Dewey Burris of Fries, Virginia; Connie and Dr. Glenn O. Gunter of Charlotte, North Carolina; brothers and sister-in-law Otis Bond; Don and Barbara Bond all of Galax, Virginia; Gilmer Bond of Okeechobee, Florida; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Dr. Glenn O. Gunter officiating. Entombment will follow in the Monta Vista Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
