Rita Kay Hines, age 61, of Galax, VA, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013 at the Twin County Regional Hospital,
Galax, VA.
Mrs. Hines was born June 4, 1952 in Austinville, VA to Samuel Floyd and Ollie Mae King Bise. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters; Pauline Patton, Alene Turney, Shelby Jean Widner, Kathleen Boyd and Elizabeth Lane.
She is survived by daughters & son-in-law, Lisa & Scotty Ayers, Fries, VA, Regina Hill, Fancy Gap, VA; son & daughter-in-law, Chris & Cassie Hines, Galax, VA; sisters & brother-in-law, Margaret & George Vance, Fries, VA, Linda Faulkner, Fries, VA, Evelyn Shupe, Fries, VA, Mary Bond, Woodlawn, VA; grandchildren; Matthew Hill, Brandon Ayers, Clay Hines, Karia Hill & Gabe Hines; special friend, Shirley Poole and several nieces & nephews, also, survive.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan Guynn Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, Dec. 2, 2013 at the funeral home. Officiating ministers will be Ron Hill, Myron Dalton and Lee Houston.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Galax Fire Department, Mountain Valley Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
