Rilda Jolene Brewer Evans age 91 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Monday, June 23, 2025 at the home of her son in Fieldale, Virginia.

Mrs. Evans was born in Wythe County, Virginia on November 11, 1933 to Emmett and Ethel Ruth Newman Brewer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by  her husband Walter Willis Evans.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Janet Carol Evans of Fieldale, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Roger and Judy Brewer of Galax, Virginia; Danny and Brenda Brewer of Austinville, Virginia; two grandchildren and spouses Aaron Jeffrey and Joy Evans; Charity Faith and Sam Moize;  four great-grandchildren Sean Evans; Isaac Evans; Ethan Evans and Austin Haven; two step-great-grandchildren Ryker Moize and Scarlett Moize; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM in the Snow Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Ernie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Snow Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Snow Hill Baptist Church.
