Richard Robert Reeves age 79 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, December 28, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Reeves was born in Alleghany County, North Carolina on August 30, 1939 to Robert and Blanche Wagoner Reeves. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Roger Reeves and Randy Reeves.

He is survived by his wife Sylvia Reeves of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Mike and Cheryl Reeves of Galax, Virginia; Travis and Leslie Reeves of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; grandchildren and spouse Ashley and Zach Jurney; Weatherly Reeves; Ridge Reeves; great-grandchildren Eli Jurney and Tanner Reeves; several step-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law Elizabeth and Junior Vass of Hillsville, Virginia; Phyllis Reeves of Salem, Virginia; Carlene and Donnie McCraw; Teresa Ray and Peter French all of Galax, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Tim and Debbie Reeves of Wytheville, Virginia; Robin and Teresa Reeves of Supply, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday, December 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Mark Carico officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery in Alleghany County, North Carolina. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
