Richard Gayle Perry, 80, of Mt. Airy, NC passed away Saturday, February 14, 2009 in the Stokes Memorial Hospital in Danbury, North Carolina. Mr. Perry was born March 27, 1928 in Pennsylvania to Dewey Edward & Eva Ruth Dixon Perry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Louise Youngblood Perry.

Mr. Perry is survived by daughter & son-in-law Mary Perry-McCormick and Greg of Mount Airy; son and daughter-in-law Bob & Joyce Perry of Pilot Mountain; grandson Joey McCormick of Mount Airy; two brothers & sisters-in-law: Branham & Esther Perry of Rising Sun, Maryland; Edmond & Anita Perry of Florida; sister-in-law Beulah Youngblood of Galax; special caregiver Paula McCarty and 19 nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday, February 16, 2009 at 7:00 PM in the New Charity Baptist Church on White Pines Country Club Road in Mount Airy with the Rev. Hank Robertson officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 PM until time for the service.

Interment will be Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Mount Hope Church Cemetery beyond Fries, VA with Rev. Ken Blevins.
