Richard Nelson Stuart better known as Rick Stuart age 62 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Rick was born in Louisa County, Virginia on December 8, 1958 to James Frederick and Ortha Janie Vaughan Stuart.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Alpha Slate and two brothers Randy Stuart and Larry Stuart.

He is survived by his wife Genene Stuart; sister and brother-in-law Freda and Jim Sexton all of Galax, Virginia; nieces and nephews Matthew, Makaley and Maclon Lineberry; Brianna and Levi Sawyers; Kevin and Kelly Lineberry; Carrie and Mitch Hawks; Karlie and Kambri Hawks; Stacey and Gregory Slate.

The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. David Payne  and the Rev. Ronnie Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery at Baywood. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Mask and social distancing will be required for the graveside service.
