Richard Velpo Felts, Known as Dick Felts age 82 formerly  of Galax, Virginia passed away peacefully at his home in Laytonville, Maryland, Thursday September 17, 2020.

Richard was born on September 2, 1938 to Nancy Porter Felts and Velpo Virgil Felts. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Jack Felts.

He is survived by his wife of the home, Cathy Brewer Felts; daughter Lisa McKnight of Tallahassee, Florida; sons and daughter-in-law Lee and Diana Felts of Galax, Virginia; Mike and Sophie Felts of Laytonville, Maryland; brother and sister-in-law Tom and Jill Felts of Charlotte, North Carolina. He is also survived by his grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on September 26, 2020 from 1-2pm followed by a memorial service at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request that any donations be made to Fairlawn Church of Christ, 344 Coleman Ridge Rd, Galax, VA 24333
