Richard was born on May 16, 1954 in Roanoke, Virginia to Harless Herman and Edith Elizabeth Vest Carr.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Pike Carr of Galax, Virginia; children and spouses Stephen Richard Carr of Galax, Virginia; Lauren Whitley and Coleman of Christiansburg, Virginia; Daniel Carr and Johanna of Monheim, Pennsylvania.
There will be no services held for Richard at this time.
