Rhoda Fern Shores known as Fern Shores age 79 of Galax, Va. passed away Saturday afternoon in Beverly Blue-Ridge Healthcare. Mrs. Shores was born on January 27, 1928 in Grayson County, Va. to the late John Bruce & Easter Esther Goodson Galyean. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Grady Shores. She is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law Michael & Rike' Shores of Greensboro, N.C.; Joel & Penny Shores; Blake & Elizabeth Shores all of Roanoke, Va.; David & Amanda Burnette of Galax, Va.; fourteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at 11:00 AM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor David Long officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Mausoleum.
