Reuben Hawks, Jr.'s Obituary
Elder Reuben Hawks, Jr., age 81, Galax, VA, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at his home.
Mr. Hawks was born Sept. 9, 1934 in Galax, VA to William Reuben Hawks, Sr. and Minnie Ethel Martin Hawks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle.
He is survived by children, David M. Hawks, Fancy Gap, VA, Debra Lynn & Martin Amburn, Woodlawn, VA, Ima Karen & Gary Presnell, Sparta, NC, Arthur Nelson Cox, Roanoke, VA, Victor & Pamela Cox, Lawndale, NC; sister & brother-in-law, June & Charles Goins, Pulaski, VA; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, several nieces & nephews, special friends, Rita Blackburn & Gene Combs; numerous other friends, also, survive.
Funeral service will be held, Monday, Oct. 19, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with burial to follow in the New Hope Cemetery.
Officiating ministers will be Elder Melvin McGrady and Elder Eugene Brown. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home, Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015.
