Retha Annie Hawks' Obituary
Retha Annie Hawks age 82 of Independence, Virginia formerly of Cana, Virginia passed away Friday, October 22, 2010 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Hawks was born on January 6, 1928 in McDowell County, West Virginia to Monroe and Ada Cagle Hawks.
She is survived by her husband Claudy Hawks of Independence, Virginia; daughters and sons-in-law Susan and Ollis Hawks; Eugenia Ann Hawks all of Cana, Virginia; sister Iva Kidd of Martinsville, Virginia; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, October 24, 2010 at 4:00 PM in the Sandy Ridge Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Lacy Gates and Elder Virgil Hawks officiating. Burial will follow in the Sandy Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from two pm until service time at the church.
